Evaluating surface facilities and subsurface wells together complements your overall operation by:
- Lowering treatment and equipment costs
- Increasing production and improving the quality of both the well and the facility
Too often, surface chemical treatment, equipment, and subsurface reservoir geology are treated as separate departments. Scientific Specialties bridges this gap.
Case Study: Overcoming Well Bore Plugging
The Location: Alberta, Canada.
The Challenge: A waste-injection facility featured a tight 0.3-micron pore-throat space. The facility relied on a 200-micron filter without treating the water further, causing all particulate matter between 0.3 and 200 microns to severely plug the injection well.
The Solution: Scientific Specialties created a solution to perfectly match the surface treatment processes with the unique geological properties of the well.
The Results: The well injection rate skyrocketed from 1 m³/hr to 15 m³/hr in 6 months. Production continued to scale by 1 m³/hr every month until reaching a peak baseline of 26 m³/hr—a massive operational turnaround.
